Travel Tips

🌺 Travel Tips from Blissful Blythe Travels

Because paradise is even better when you’re prepared!

✈️ Airline Ticket Tips

  • Book early, but smart. Prices tend to rise within 30–45 days of departure, so plan ahead for the best deals.

  • Midweek flights often cost less. Tuesdays and Wednesdays can save you hundreds.

  • Double-check your spelling. Even one wrong letter on your ticket can cause issues at check-in.

  • Set alerts and watch fares. Prices can fluctuate daily—don’t be afraid to snag a good deal when you see it.

  • Join frequent flyer programs. Even if you don’t fly often, those miles add up over time!

🛫 Airport Know-How

  • Arrive early. Two hours before domestic flights and three for international—no exceptions. Stress-free is the way to be!

  • Download your airline’s app. Most apps show gate changes, boarding times, and baggage info instantly.

  • Keep essentials handy. ID, boarding pass, meds, and chargers should be easy to reach—not buried at the bottom of your tote.

  • Dress smart. Layers, slip-on shoes, and minimal metal make security a breeze.

  • Pack patience. Lines happen, delays happen—deep breaths and a snack go a long way.

🚗 Rental Vehicle Wisdom

  • Reserve in advance. Especially for holiday or resort destinations where cars sell out fast.

  • Bring your driver’s license and credit card. Debit cards often cause issues with holds.

  • Take pictures of the car. Document before and after—it protects you if there’s a damage dispute.

  • Know your insurance coverage. Many credit cards or travel policies include rental car protection, so ask before buying extra.

  • Refuel yourself. Return the car with a full tank—it’s way cheaper than paying rental company refueling rates.

👜 Carry-On Luggage Must-Knows

  • Check your airline’s size limits. “Carry-on” sizes vary (and those overhead bins aren’t as generous as they look).

  • Pack a spare outfit. If your checked bag is delayed, you’ll thank yourself later.

  • Liquids = 3-1-1 rule. Each container must be 3.4 oz or smaller, in one clear quart-sized bag, with one bag per person.

  • Keep valuables with you. Jewelry, electronics, passports, and medications never belong in checked luggage.

  • Bring a reusable water bottle. Empty it before security, refill it after—you’ll save money and stay hydrated.

💍 Protecting Your Valuables

  • Use a crossbody or anti-theft bag. Keep your essentials close, especially in crowded areas.

  • Hotel safes are your friend. Store passports, jewelry, and spare cash there.

  • Avoid flashing expensive items. The less attention you draw, the safer you’ll be.

  • Photograph important documents. Keep digital copies (password-protected!) just in case something is lost or stolen.

🧳 Packing Like a Pro

  • Roll, don’t fold. Rolling saves space and reduces wrinkles—promise.

  • Use packing cubes. They keep your suitcase organized and make unpacking a breeze.

  • Bundle by outfit. Pack complete looks together so you’re not digging through your suitcase each morning.
